Marik Civil War Campaign: Alliance Change (Update!)

EDIT: Please note that our alliance is changing. The Desert Rats and RMA are doing fine with keeping their drops filled. The Silverhawks, however, are not. Joe sent me a request asking if he could change our alliance from being with the Desert Rats to allying with the Silverhawks. See my more recent post at the end of this thread.

Also of note is that PGI is very interested in this mini-campaign. They even had thought about physical prizes for the winner, but legal basically told them no. Either way, PGI will be watching closely and will be promoting the event as well.

My question to all of you is, are we interested? We wouldn't be able to represent a faction all by ourselves, but the Desert Rats and RMA are both looking for allies. If we ally we would represent one faction together with pilots from each of our units filling in open spots in the 8 vs 8 drops that determine the results of a chosen action.

If we have enough interest, I'll let RMA and Desert Rats know we're interested in the campaign. The current deadline for entries is the 11th, however it may be delayed a bit.

I'm . . . moderately interested, I suppose. 8 mans aren't generally my thing, but with the additional restrictions on weight and/or class, that might make things a bit better. Plus the whole idea of the civil war campaign is a fun little thing.

If folks want to do it, I'd probably be willing to join in; if folks don't want to, then I'm perfectly happy with that as well. Probably not the answer you're looking for, but it's what I've got.

I would say yes.... but only as a part of an alliance with another group.

I know that Legion and SH have already paired up and have similiar group size to ours... We might work well as a fast scout (or as friday showed with Graysen and LODGhost an assault) lance with them if they need a lance for fill ins.

An alliance with 1FWG should also be a good fit but we seem to have play time issues pairing with them so getting in 5 drops a week might be tough.

I hate to say it but unless we could all commit to a set of drop times on atleast 3 nights a week with 8 of us we can't do this solo. And as much as it pains me to say it to be a part of this we will have to rely on allies. My inclination would be to approach Legion and SH to see if they would be interested in a 3 way alliance. We could add something to both of those Units and for the most part they are alot of fun to drop with; and, perhaps most important with 3 units we should have no trouble filling out an 8 man for a best of 5 tourney.

That all being said.... If the 4th decides not to participate I am planning on participating as a MGA affiliate. But I would much rather drop with my brothers.... rather than my cousins.

The Desert Rats have offered to ally with us so that we can get a chance to participate in the Civil War campaign.

I was assured that those of us participating would definitely get a chance to drop.
