My Official GODZILLA review

Post by JD McFrizzle »

As expected with any Godzilla movie, corny acting, corny music, bad storyline. This is not a problem for Godzilla fans. In this case tho, turn it from bad Japanese corny to schlock Hollywood corny. ok, I can live with that.

Godzilla himself looks good. He's freakin ENORMOUS!!! The other monsters (M.U.T.O.) also looked good. Unfortunatly, you see them FAR more than Godzilla. The fights scenes are awesome. They are done very much with the feel of the old movies, except that they look far more realistic thanks to modern special effects. Unfortunatly, as before, far too few. If they had spent more time on the fight scenes and less on the crappy story line I would have been much more entertained.

Considering I have waited 5 years for this movie, I am kind of disappointed. I give it only 3 out of 5...If he didnt look as cool as he does I would knock that back down to 2 1/2. If you bother with this at the theater, watch it in 3D. If not, just wait for it to come out on video.

Agree mostly.

Far too little Godzilla for a Godzilla movie.

I actually said "What the #$%#%" in the theater when just as the monsters started fighting some human closed the armored door on whatever building it was thus cutting off our view.

That said, I will probably see it again, but not sit quite so close to screen....he was freaking huge.

Agreed it very much had the feel of the old movies though as soon as I saw the MUTOs it reminded me of the monster in Cloverfield. I did enjoy it though and will watch it again, though next time from a couch with pizza and beer. Looking forward to the next few they do.

Saw it and it is like the 70s Godzilla movies. Godzilla saved the day and that is how it should be. He will return next time he is needed to kick the crap out of some evil human killing monsters. :)

I absolutely HATE the good guy angle on Godzilla. But yeah, it worked.
