Dropping the external heat sinks gives you enough crits for an endo steel upgrade, which in turn gives you enough extra tonnage to improve the engine to XL300 +1 DHS. Same amount of heat sinks, but marginally better heat efficiency (thanks to full 10 internal heat sinks) and better speed and maneuverability.

Though a more expensive build, of course.
