My only complaint is the "Regulan fiefs" part. While people who know the source material will recognize the emblem as being for the 4th Regulan Hussars, nothing in the rest of the image indicates that.

While life in the Inner Sphere can certainly be likened to feudal life of the middle ages, especially the structures in the Regulan state, I'm not sure fiefs really makes much sense here.

The Regulan Fiefs is what becomes out of the Principality of Regulus some time after the 3067-3085 war of the Word of Blake.

So it is canon. But from the point of view of MWO (which takes place in 3050) future canon, so critizism is not entirely misplaced.

I think I am just going to poke the old Cappie, HikageMaru, and see if he can knit a new signature that includes the unit name.
(I just assume you make them from thread and cloth. Nobody really knows.)

Please note this a picture heavy post. Give it a minute to load up all the images.

Here is some stuff from my WH40K army. I have put myself under a few restrictions when building it, mainly that a) every miniature will be individualized by conversion b) I will do "reasonable marines", which means no flags and gaudy colours to attract fire c) I dig the kit-bash style of the Adeptus Mechanicus tech that evokes the image of technology being an occult art instead of a science and tried to avoid the clean, streamlined image from vanilla marines.

Please note that this is a work in progress. And, considering my speed and spare time, I expect it to be done about 2030. Give or take 5 years. I fiddle with it only when I feel like it, which is seldom enough.

I finished about 60 miniatures at this point.

The miniatures are not yet painted. I tried out a few colour schemes. (this is why you will find individual limbs that are painted, but not in the colour they will have eventually)

I chose equipment under the rule of cool. I am aware some combinations aren´t effective on the board, but as I almost never play the game itself, I do not really care. Some equipment also looks differently than the canon equivalent.

Colour Scheme (planned):

Chapter Master:

Please note the mechanical arm represents my interpretation of a Combi-Melter, while that other thing on the backpack is supposed to represent an Auxiliaris Grenade Launcher.

The Chapter Master is not yet done. I need to drill holes into the temples for the cables, adjust the pauldrons and have to add a thumb to his left hand holding the helmet. (if you wonder what the stuff on the helmet is made of...well there are these tiny brushes you get with your electric razor for cleaning)

Command Squad/Retinue:

The weapons are meant to represent Storm Bolters. I just disliked how bulky the regular storm bolters by GW looked. The banner is meant to be painted by hand like that with the colour printout serving as a template. I don´t know if it is actually doable. But it is a headache far in the future, so...shrug.

Assault Squad:

I use Mk VI "Corvus" helmets exclusively for assault squads. All Marines without helmets have some cable poking out of their heads. And every sergeant has some tech gadgets on its backpack, instead of some unwieldy and stupid banner.

Chaplain:

The left armpit looks rather wonky on the photos. I assure you in real it looks closer to the flexible part of a power armour.
The axe blade has a stylized eagle as decoration. As the eagle head is cut from plastic (chainblade pommel) and the "wings" made with a green stuff equivalent it is hard to recognize, I fear.

Tactical Squad:

One of the two Tac Squads I have finished by now. In case the photo makes it hard to see, the cables are coming out of the Sergeant´s mouth. The servitor-like style is intentional. As with all sergeants no banner for him, but communications gear and tech gadgets.

The squad has one special weapon trooper, one combi-weapon held by the Sergeant, but no heavy weapon. Fluff-wise it has one sniper instead, whose weapon the "Stalker Pattern" Bolter you might know from the fluff of Sergeant Telion in the Codex or from the video game "space marine" but the rules don´t support something like that currently.

Some really nice work their Konsti! I really like marines being a more gritty and real army than they are often portrayed.

Not that reason really has a place in the violence fantasy, that is the WH40K world, but still..

Launch is imminent. So Propaganda offensives are mandatory.

I thought you would agree that my proposal for our new unit logo will meet with wide acclaim.
